Croxley Hall Lake, the “Jewel in the Crown” is a mature eight-acre gravel pit dug over forty-five years ago. This rich weedy lake still contains a handful of original carp. In 1996 approximately two hundred of the now-famous “Croxley Commons” were stocked at an average weight of two pounds.
Over the next few years, these fish were monitored and any slow-growing fish were removed - this resulted in huge growth rates with the majority of these fish now weighing between forty and fifty-three pounds. In 2004, a further twenty "Leney" carp were stocked at around seven pounds in weight. These fish are now mostly between thirty and forty-seven pounds. In 2007, a further thirty-three mirror carp from the "Dinton Pastures" strain were stocked these stunning fish are mostly upwards of twenty-five pounds. The lake received a further stocking of fourteen C5 Carp in December 2018, twenty-eight C6 Carp in October 2020, and nine C5 Carp in December 2020.
In February 2021 the first four of our homegrown C3 "Croxley Commons" were stocked into the lake, these fish averaged 8 lbs and were followed by 53 C4s in November 2021.
